STRUCTURE
ELECTIONS
Once a year, towards the end of the calendar year, students from each department elect representatives from their respective study programs to the Section Council. Each section represents the part of Alias associated with a specific department.
SECTION COUNCIL
The Section Council consists of at least one representative from each study program within the department. The number of seats allocated to each study program depends on the number of students enrolled in that program. Members of the Section Council elect students to the Student Council, which is the highest governing body of Alias.
SECTION EXECUTIVE BOARD
The Section Council also elects the Section Executive Board, which consists of: a presidency or co-presidency, a treasurer, and a secretary.
In addition to their responsibilities as members of the Section Council, the section presidency acts as the primary point of contact with the department leadership and chairs the section meetings.
STUDENT COUNCIL
The Student Council is the highest governing body of Alias. It elects the Alias Executive Board and the representatives to various committees once a year. The Alias Executive Board serves as the executive branch of the organization and is responsible for its operational management.
The Student Council meets twice per semester to discuss current matters of the organization and to vote on submitted proposals.
SEAT ALLOCATION
The section representing the department with the largest number of students is entitled to 10 seats in the Student Council. This maximum serves as the basis for calculating the number of seats for the other seven sections. The number of seats for the remaining sections is calculated proportionally based on the student numbers of the largest department.
DELEGATES COUNCIL
The Section Executive Board delegates one member to the Delegate Council, which consists of eight members (one from each department). The Delegate Council prepares topics to be discussed in the Student Council.
