Welcome to Alias Section T

Together for the students of the School of Engineering

The Alias Section T is the official representative body of students at the School of Engineering. As an interface between the students and the university, we are actively committed to representing the concerns of our fellow students and promoting communication. Our aim is to continuously improve the course of study and also to strengthen the student community by organizing events.

Interest representation

The ALIAS section T advocates for the interests of students at various levels – including through student surveys.
These are conducted regularly in order to identify and make visible the challenges and concerns of students. The results are discussed each semester with the Head of Teaching at the ZHAW.

Management conference

Alias was able to take part in the SoE management conference (consisting of heads of degree programs, heads of institutions, etc.) and give a presentation on the attractiveness of teaching. The management then worked on and presented the points mentioned in the workshops. Alias will continue to monitor progress.

COM modules revision

The Presidium is in the working group, together with selected ZHAW SoE stakeholders, to make the COM modules more appealing to all students.

our projects

The ALIAS section T actively incorporates students’ ideas into the further development of everyday student life.
For example, the need for additional meeting rooms for small working groups was brought to the attention of the ZHAW. As a result, a room for four people is now being set up on a trial basis. ALIAS is supporting the project and providing regular feedback on its implementation.

Lunch breaks

Alias is campaigning for a standardized lunch break. Instead of the current differences of 25 minutes or 2.5 hours, a clear regulation is to be introduced. Implementation is planned for the fall semester 2026 (HS26).

THINKtank

The ThinkTank is an internal working group of Alias in which committed members of the Section Council work together on ideas and concepts for the further development of the organization.
