The five Zurich universities ETH, UZH, ZHdK, ZHAW and PHZH together with over 100 students present the Zurich’s Sustainability Week. In doing so, they would like to encourage you to reflect, debate and take concrete action. Those who attend university should critically question the system, think about our society and be open to broadening their horizons.

Conecto ZHAW, formerly known as ZHAW Graduates’ Day, is the largest contact expo for universities of applied sciences in Switzerland. True to the motto “Campus meets Business”, it offers companies and students an excellent platform to get in touch with each other. In addition to the fair, Conecto ZHAW organises numerous interesting events such as the Photo Shoot Day or the CV Checks as well as various lectures on the topics of job applications, salary negotiation, appearance skills and much more.

Membership for ALUMNI ZHAW is free of charge for students. You benefit from all the services of a paying member. Make use of the alumni network for internships and work.

Theatre 8 offers ZHAW staff and students opportunities in theatre with an annual production and various training courses.

The AAZ is a student association whose members are interested in topics related to aviation. The association’s activities vary from monthly meetings and get-togethers to fly-ins and visits to companies in the aviation industry. The only condition for joining is a valid enrolment at an university in Zurich.

The Albanian Students’ Association is an association that brings Albanian culture, language, society and history closer to students in Zurich. The main objective of the association is to promote networking, cooperation and communication between its members. In order to achieve this goal, the association regularly organises events to encourage relationships with each other. They are also a contact point for Albanian students on cultural exchange in Zurich.

The OF@ZHAW addresses the tension between the military – studies – business. The aim of the association’s services is to enable its members to exchange information and experience. On the other hand, to offer opportunities to all students who are expanding their military leadership training at the ZHAW.

The Christian University Group at the ZHAW is a student group that promotes exchange among Christian students and is committed to a lively spirituality in everyday university life. In addition to prayer meetings and Bible reading groups, the VBG also organises events on philosophical and ethical topics. The activities are open to all.

The TaVS (Tamil Students’ Association) was founded on 18 October 2016 for the networking of Tamil students. The purpose of our association is to bring together students with an interest in Tamil culture and community, to promote exchange between members and to support and implement projects for the development of the Tamil community.

Relaxed atmosphere, chilled beer and unbeatable prices – for the past 20 years the cellar of the Türmlihuus has served as a student bar for students from Winterthur, especially those from the Technikum.

The Türmli Bar is open every Thursday and regularly hosts concerts and parties.

With a flair for start-ups, innovation and entrepreneurship, they bring like-minded people together for ideas and projects. The Entrepreneur Club Winterthur offers a platform for start-ups in the Winterthur region. Their range of events include everything from Start-up Night and Hackathon to monthly roundtables!

The Amnesty International University Group Zurich is a student university association that campaigns for human rights in the university community in Zurich. They organise conferences, film screenings, stands, discussions, exhibitions, culinary events and much more.

The FHV Turania is a student fraternity on the in Winterthur. The common goal is to strengthen community awareness, promote social competence and form true lifelong friendships among the members. The Aktivitas is a modern student fraternity that fosters friendships across all colleges and universities. The alumni association supports the aims of the Aktivitas and continues friendships across professional and age boundaries.

Velove provides ZHAW staff and students with offers all around bicycles. Their Do-It-Yourself bike workshop is open to ZHAW students and staff. In addition, they offer workshops, help with repairs and collective rides. The bike workshop serves as a social meeting place for like-minded people and the infrastructure provided, as well as the cooperation with the Student Project House of the ETH, should create fertile ground for innovative projects.

Science Slam is the new form of scientific communication. Scientists present their research to an audience in an entertaining and understandable way – in less than 10 minutes. The creativity of the so-called slammers is given free rein. The audience decides which slammers make it to the final round and who will leave the stage as the new Science Slam Champion. Science Slam is open to scientists from all fields.

NEO is a “student think tank” set up as an association and active in the university community in Switzerland. They organise keynotes, get togethers, start-up pitches, panels, networking events, Neo Labs, panel discussions and much more.

ZURICH UAS RACINGis the world’s largest competition for engineers, held annually at various locations around the world. It was founded by the “Society of Automotive Engineers” in 1981 in the USA; the first European competition was held in 1998. Today, over 600 teams from different universities around the world compete against each other in various disciplines with their self-constructed cars. The winner is not necessarily the team with the fastest car, but the team with the best overall package of solid construction, good racing performance, careful financial planning and convincing sales arguments.

 

The Muslim Students Association Zürich (MSAZ) represents the needs of students of the Muslim faith. By organising various activities, it aims to promote the students’ sense of connection to the university and student unity within the ZHAW.

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Winterthur forms part of the largest student network in Europe and aims to promote international student mobility. They help exchange students at ZHAW to spend an unforgettable semester abroad and organize lots of cool events – such as parties, pub crawls, sporting activities, day trips to other Swiss cities and hikes or weekend excursions.
