What is HSV?
The University Assembly (HSV) is an official participatory body of the ZHAW.
All members of the university are represented by 40 delegates:
- 50 % lecturers and teaching staff
- 50 % non-professorial staff, administrative/technical staff and students
- 7 delegates come from the student body.
The alias presidency usually represents the students on the HSV Board. In the case of a co-presidency, both persons have a seat, but share one vote.

Tasks of the HSV
The HSV organises participation at the level of the entire ZHAW.
It discusses and makes recommendations on topics such as
- University regulations and mission statement
- Strategic orientations and quality development
- Regulations and policies
- Projects of major importance
The Student Council can also submit proposals, which are reviewed by the HSV and forwarded to the Executive Board if accepted.
