What is HSV?

The University Assembly (HSV) is an official participatory body of the ZHAW.

All members of the university are represented by 40 delegates:

  • 50 % lecturers and teaching staff
  • 50 % non-professorial staff, administrative/technical staff and students
  • 7 delegates come from the student body.

The alias presidency usually represents the students on the HSV Board. In the case of a co-presidency, both persons have a seat, but share one vote.

The HSV organises participation at the level of the entire ZHAW.
It discusses and makes recommendations on topics such as

  • University regulations and mission statement
  • Strategic orientations and quality development
  • Regulations and policies
  • Projects of major importance

The Student Council can also submit proposals, which are reviewed by the HSV and forwarded to the Executive Board if accepted.
