STUDENT TEACHING AWARD

The Student Teaching Award is a recognition given to ZHAW lecturers who stand out for their exceptional teaching. What makes this award unique is that students themselves decide who receives it.

In each of ZHAW’s eight departments, one lecturer is honored with the award. Students evaluate their lecturers in the categories of teaching competence, materials and media, course structure, and motivation and engagement. The lecturer with the highest ratings in their department wins the award. This gives students the opportunity to express their appreciation for the lecturers who have had a lasting impact on their learning experience.

The total prize money of CHF 10,000, sponsored by the Credit Suisse Foundation, is evenly distributed among the departmental award winners.

The Student Teaching Award highlights high-quality teaching at ZHAW by putting students’ perspectives front and center. For Alias, as the student association, it is important to ensure that those lecturers who show daily commitment and creativity in their teaching are properly recognized.
