STUDENT TEACHING AWARD
The Student Teaching Prize is an award that recognizes ZHAW lecturers who have distinguished themselves through particularly good teaching. What makes it special is that the students themselves decide who receives the award.
One lecturer from each of the ZHAW’s eight departments is honored. Students evaluate their lecturers in the categories of teaching skills, materials and media, course structure, motivation and commitment. Whoever receives the best ratings wins the teaching award in the respective department. This gives students the opportunity to express their appreciation for those lecturers who have particularly influenced and motivated them during their studies.
The prize money totaling CHF 10,000, sponsored by the UBS Foundation, is divided equally among all departmental award winners.
The Student Teaching Award makes good teaching at the ZHAW visible by focusing on the students’ perspective. For Alias as a student organization, the focus is on recognizing those lecturers who work with commitment and creativity to provide high-quality teaching on a daily basis.
