What is LGBTQIA+
This is an acronym that stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Asexual/Agender/Aromantic, and Intersex. The + stands for all other identities and orientations that are not explicitly mentioned but are just as important.
We also sometimes use the * (asterisk) or the : (colon) to show that there are many different experiences and realities within the queer community. Everyone is welcome here, regardless of their gender identity or preferences.
Our goals
Our intersection is part of Alias’ Diversity Commission.
As such, we are also committed to equal opportunities for all students at ZHAW, but with an additional focus on the queer community at ZHAW.
Our goal is a barrier-free, queer-friendly university where everyone feels welcome, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or lifestyle. We at Q+ support students in their concerns, organize events and cozy coffee breaks, and also network with other LGBTQAI+ organizations outside the ZHAW.

who we are
Our core team currently consists of four motivated students. Among other things, we take care of:
- Organizing social events/meetings and events
- Collaborating with internal and external organizations
- Collecting and sharing knowledge and experiences related to LGBTQAI+ issues
- Financial planning and advertising for Q+
In addition to the core team, other members and collaborators are also involved in the success of Q+. We exchange perspectives and ideas and receive regular feedback.
We are always happy to welcome new students who would like to support us.
